A Miracle Up In Flames

As the year ends, many people have suffered losses throughout the year. One of these is Mexican club Cruz Azul lost the finals against rivals Toluca on Sunday. This was one the best finals I have ever seen with both sides trying to win their ninth cup. It was very suspenseful with both sides winning the ball every second. Cruz Azul was able to score twice and went on to extra time, since Toluca had scored twice in the previous match, to decide the champion. Both sides showed signs of not giving up. When both halves of extra time had ended, the clock edged closer to midnight as penalty shoot outs came. Both teams scored their penalties successfully and seemed that both teams will keep on going. After Toluca had scored their eighth penalty Cruz Azul had to equalize. As the Alejandro Vela approached the line, the clock had struck midnight. When he shot it, Toluca goalkeeper Cristante stops the ball ensuring Toluca's ninth title. As Toluca celebrates, Midnight had approached

Its Almost Open.

The Transfer Window in Europe is almost open and many teams are ready to capture some of the greatest footballers Europe has to offer. One of these players is Arsenal's own William Gallas. The 31 year old has stated that if he does not renew the contract then he is ready to leave. Italy clubs Milan and Juventus are in to try to sign the Frenchman and many are stating the is going to join Juve. Manchester City, however, is the club that many are saying that they will be buying the most players with bids already for Kun Aguero, Gianluigi Buffon, Kaka, and Fernando Torres. Only time will tell if City will be able to get the players they want.

And the Winner is........

It was announced today that Manchester United and Portugal winger Cristiano Ronaldo has won the Ballon D'Or the most prestigious award in all of European football. It was no surprise that this man has won, I mean look at all he has done for the club. He has scored 42 goals and was able to help Manchester win both The Premier League and the Champions League, winning its first Champions League title since 1999. In my opinion Ronaldo is already the greatest in all of football. He will continue to amaze everyone even those who hate him. Leo Messi came in second and Fernando Torres came in third

Goals, goals and more goals: FIFA 09 Review

To me there's nothing better than soccer and video games, but when the 2 collide, out comes what I think is this years best sports game; FIFA 09. The successor of last years game FIFA 08, FIFA 09 has more than 250 improvements including new header animations and user controlled celebration so you can piss off your opponents after a hat trick. The game includes over 500 teams, 30 leagues and 41 National teams. The modes are the same as last year's game with a few exceptions. Be a Pro Mode was modified to Be a Pro: Seasons where you can control your favorite player and play with him in his club or national team. You have a total of 4 seasons and your goal is to become the squad captain of both national and club. You can also create a player and build him from the ground up. You start off playing in the reserves and if you become good enough you can play for the starting team. The FIFA series has become the greatest series in sports game with one of the best graphics I have ever seen and the 250 improvements, this game is a must have even if you don't like soccer

The Real dream is over, for now

It was announced today in the morning, that Spanish club Real Madrid, has given up on the fact that they will buy Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo from English club Manchester United. Madrid president Ramon Calderon has insisted that the pursuit is over, "not for January, but forever." Ronaldo's transfer to Madrid, after scoring an amazing 42 goals for Manchester last season, was headline news in all of Europe. "We could only talk about it when Manchester decide they want to sell him" said Calderon. "Madrid is not doing anything do disturb a 'friend club' like Manchester." All there is now is to know if Manchester really wants to sell Ronaldo.

Fans Forgive the Lucky Number Seven

September 17, 2008, late in the second half of Manchester's first game of the 2008/2009 UEFA Champions League. In the 62nd minute, Sir Alex Ferguson decides to bring in the player who was the center of the summer transfer window, Cristiano Ronaldo. As he and Ji-Sung Park, number 13, exchange a a hand shake and a good luck, Ronaldo steps on to the field to hear the cheers and chants of the crowd, "Ronaldo, Ronaldo, RONALDO!!!" they would chant. In the English newspaper, The Sun, the star from Portugal said, "In the game when I came back against Villarreal I wasn’t nervous but just a bit excited to see how the fans would react to me"
He went on to say, "This shows people have not forgotten all the good things we’ve done together and I’m very happy with that." Even though the fans still love him, they have to let go of the number seven. Ronaldo has stated that he is going to give Manchester one more season and then it's off to Madrid. Which means that Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, might lead his country yet again. John Terry has been complaining about a back injury since the last match against Romanian team CFR Cluj. The defender was put under some light practices through out the week but was forced to be sidelined. If called upon, Rio is looking at his second win as England's captain
